Daniel Radcliffe donated signed Harry Potter books to the Katie Hart-Greenfield Memorial Fund, which was established after the 15 year old died of a brain tumour last year. Dan had met Katie and had written a tribute for her funeral. The auction was held at a charity cricket match, to raise funds for the Little Havens Hospice, where she spent her last days and the Danbury Mission Evangelical Church, which she attended.

Katie’s father, Nick Hart, 48, of Holyoak Lane, Hawkwell, said it was great to have Daniel’s support.

Nick said: “Katie and Daniel met each other a couple of times and he sent a very heartfelt message, which was read out at her funeral.

“It’s great he has continued to show his support, and it shows what a lovely young man he is.”

The match took place in Chelmsford, England, last weekend. A total of £1,200 was raised.
