UPDATED Tom Felton & Bonnie Wright talk Deathly Hallows epilogue from set

E-mail Print PDF

Het Nieuwsblad, a Belgian publication, got the chance to visit the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows set recently, where they spoke to Tom Felton and Bonnie Wright about the sixth and seventh films. New photos of Tom, Bonnie, and the entire cast (including Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, James and Oliver Phelps, Jessie Cave, and Dave Legeno) on the Weasley shop set, can be seen here.

Tom Felton: It's good to be the villain. I think every actor likes to play a character that is miles away from yourself. But in real life Daniel Radcliffe and I get on very well. We share a love for cricket. When we’re not trying to kill each other with spells, we just sit in in Daniel's dressing room watching cricket games on television. We also play cricket ourselves, but the filming company is quite afraid Daniel will get a ball thrown in his face. So we’re not allowed to throw the ball in his direction.

UPDATE: The entire article can be read below, courtesy of Elisabeth Van de Winkel's translation.

To be the enemy of Harry Potter
Tom Felton:
‘It is great fun to be the bad guy. I think every actor likes to play a character that is completely different from his own personality. A tennis ball is ok, but a real cricket ball isn’t.’

Scared Fans
Tom Felton:
‘ It’s fun to play the bad guy on the set, but then you have to accept that in real life some fans will be scared of you. Everyone thinks Daniel, Bonnie, Emma and Rupert are sympathetic, but I was once booed at when I went to give out some Childrens Award. Well, that means I played my character convincingly. If you can frighten children, you’re doing good as an actor. Fans under the age of 7 don’t trust me at all. When they’re older, they realise I’m not as mean as Draco in real life.’

Bonus material on the DVD
Tom Felton:
‘I really enjoy watching the ‘Behind the Scenes’ on the Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince DVD. They’re all nice memories. And they are smart enough not to show too much (on BTS), so the magic won’t disappear.’

The last scene
Tom Felton:
‘We still have a few months left of filming. The very last scene we’ll be filming will probably be the scene that plays 19 years later. I’m already very curious what we’ll all look like.’
Bonnie Wright: ‘I’m looking forward to return to King’s Cross. I filmed my first scene of the first Harry Potter film there 10 years ago. I hardly new what acting was about. I especially remember that I was freezing.’
Tom: ‘Together we spent over 10 years on this film set. We grew up here. It’ll be strange to say goodbye.’
Bonnie: ‘Who knows, we may have a reunion in ten years. What will become of the actors? Maybe we’ll be playing together in ‘Harry Potter, the Musical.’ (laughs)
Tom: ‘Or we’ll be skating in ‘Harry Potter on Ice.’ Although I think J.K. Rowling will luckily prevent this from happening.’

The Kiss Scene
Bonnie:
‘Everyone was waiting for that moment, so it was a litlle bit weird. On the other hand, Daniel and I know each other so well now, we felt at ease with each other when that scene was being filmed. I didn’t get a lot of jealous reactions. A few fans probably thought: ‘Leave Harry alone, he’s mine!’ (laughs) But it’s Ginny who gets the hero, not me.

Live-chat with Daniel Radcliffe
Everyone who bought the Blu-ray disc of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be able to chat live with Daniel Radcliffe and the director David Yates. They will answer all your questions during the very first ‘Live Community Screening’. The chat will be live from London on the 12th of December starting at 22.00 (our time: GMT+1).

All info is inside the Blu-Ray disc box. The first 100,000 people who register, can participate in the live screening and ask Daniel Radcliffe and David Yates question from inside their living room. ‘I’m looking forward to speak directly with the fans of the film and exchanging opinions,’ says Daniel Radcliffe.
