Hey guys - quick update from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park! Tonight is the star-studded red carpet event with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, James & Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright! But this morning, TheDailySnitcher was at a press conference with Bill Davis, president and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, and Mark Woodbury, president of Universal Creative. They talked about the evolution of the Universal Orlando Resort and creating the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. A few fun facts are below!
They literally started out with a blank sheet of paper and then developed the idea for the theme park, always knowing that they wanted to build Hogwarts Castle - they proposed the idea for the theme park to JK Rowling in a pop-up book, just like the ones from when they were kids!
They knew there were many recipes out there and on the internet for Butterbeer but their expert culinary staff created what they thought best represented Butterbeer and brought it over to Scotland for JK Rowling to taste!
Also mentioned were the technology changes and that they've grown from when they created the Spiderman ride, the Mummy ride, and now on to Harry Potter rides - in the 3 week soft openings they've heard positive responses from people testing out the rides and claiming that the Forbidden Journey Ride was really like nothing they'd ever experienced.
The theme of the Forbidden Journey Ride takes the highlights of Harry's life and showcases them throughout the ride.
