At Wednesday night's red carpet premiere for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Bonnie Wright, James and Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, Warwick Davis, Michael Gambon, Tom Felton and J.K. Rowling were there! Photos can be seen in our galleries here.
UPDATE: Key moments from last night's red carpet event can be read below and also on our Twitter page:
- Red Carpet event leading into Hogsmeade village: James & Oliver Phelps arrive, Tom Felton, Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, and JK Rowling.
- Actors dressed up as wizards are very authentic and in character; very fun to talk to. Some are nice to muggles - the visitors - and some are more standoffish. They like to take pictures of you with your camera to show off their muggle skills, and they say muggles have a weird fascination with the word "cheese."
- Walked around for a bit through Hogsmeade village, looking at all the surroundings as night fell and tasting Butterbeer - most people seem to prefer the frozen one over the regular one - and the chocolate frogs and cauldron cakes and pumpkin juice at Honeydukes.
- Was given a wand on the way to the orchestra and fireworks in front of Hogwarts Castle.
- Warwick Davis directed the frog choir on a stage set up in front of Hogwarts Castle. The students had fat frogs in their arms that sang along, just like in the third film, Prisoner of Azkaban.
- John Williams directed the Orlando Philharmonic to play Harry's Wondrous World and then into Quidditch.
- The Knight Bus arrived with Harry Potter stars Bonnie Wright, James & Oliver Phelps, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Michael Gambon.
- Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint arrived in the triple decker Knight Bus.
- Brilliant display of fireworks behind Hogwarts Castle, lighting up the castle with images of characters from the films displayed in gigantic lights against the castle walls including Harry, Ron, Hermione and Hagrid. And the wands we were given lit up when Dan instructed everyone to say "Lumos!" a few times.
- We all went inside the castle to ride the Forbidden Journey ride - it's really great, wonderful Quidditch scene and the whole thing really does make you feel like you're flying. More movement than the Simpson's simulation ride, too! Very real effects such as the dragon breathing fire at you, the spiders and Aragog, and the Dementors.
