The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park is now open! The Grand Opening Ceremony just concluded and we tweeted about it live, but the highlights include:
- The Hogwarts train conductor stepping to the podium announcing that special guests and students have arrived, which were the children contest winners.Â
- Bill Davis from Universal addressed everyone and then the stars came out: Warwick Davis, James & Oliver Phelps, Tom Felton, Matt Lewis, Michael Gambon, and Daniel Radcliffe & Rupert Grint.
- Dan spoke to everyone and said everyone was very excited to be here and then he greeted the children contest winners along with the rest of the cast.
- James & Oliver attempted to set off fireworks from Zonkos but failed, and then fireworks shot up out of the sky behind them and then the huge Hogwarts envelope banner that was covering the entrance to the park was let down to fall to the ground and snow and wind blew as the entrance to the theme park was revealed. Â
- The actors took the children into the park, while other visitors followed.Â
