In March, 2010 TheDailySnitcher was invited by Warner Bros. to Leavesden Studios outside of London, England to tour the set of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Parts 1 and 2. We were also given the opportunity to speak with cast and crew members, as well as view the nighttime filming of a scene to be featured in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
As of now, we are only permitted to give you a brief teaser of the visit, so details about the nighttime filming, interviews and more of what we saw during the studio tour will come closer to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 this summer. During the tour we were able to see how the Hogwarts Castle will look during wartime. Long gone are the days of looking to the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as a safe haven; the set design has been done-over to reflect the brutal battle against Voldemort and his Death Eaters that is going on throughout the last Harry Potter novel.
Interviews went in depth with Production Designer, Stuart Craig, about creating the battle-scarred Hogwarts Castle, the eerie mood throughout the entire film needed to reflect the loss and hopelessness of fighting an almost impossible war to win, and of course we heard more from Daniel Radcliffe on how he conjured up the raw emotions he needed during the final battle scenes. Matthew Lewis was also great fun to speak with on how his views of how his character, Neville Longbottom, has changed throughout the entire series, as well as his views on the pivotal role Neville plays in the final installment.
