Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Lumos Gala: More tickets available

From Lumos --

J.K. Rowling’s charity, Lumos, and the producers of the stage play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which opened recently at London West End’s Palace Theatre to rave reviews, announce today (18th August) a third and final online auction of tickets to the Lumos gala performance on Sunday 18th September. This is a last chance to bid for tickets to attend the event.

Fans eager to see the two-part play will be able to bid on ticket packages for this special performance to benefit Lumos, which will be personally introduced by J.K. Rowling. Over 100 tickets are available in a selection of packages that are combined with extra gifts including signed copies of the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child script book, Hogwarts maps created by graphic designers MinaLima and meals at London restaurants near to the theatre.

Opening bids for the performances of Parts One and Two on Sunday 18th September will start at the box office face value. The auction runs for just four days, from today until 21st August on the online auction website Givergy.

Thanks to the generosity of the play’s producers and Lumos’ 100% Pledge, every penny donated and raised in the auction will go directly to Lumos’ Families Not Orphanages Fund, which will support children in the countries where Lumos works to leave orphanages and return to a family life. Donations do not go towards administration, fundraising or overhead costs.

The Lumos gala performance of both parts of the play is the start of a worldwide campaign for Lumos this Autumn called We Are Lumos Worldwide which aims to enhance awareness of the harm caused to children placed in orphanages, and raise funds for the Families Not Orphanages Fund. The campaign culminates with an advance screening of the new film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in New York on 12th November, with a chance to see J.K. Rowling in conversation on stage at Carnegie Hall, with the film’s main star and Academy Award® winner Eddie Redmayne.

“Fantastic Beasts” Sequel is in the Works, Being Written by J.K. Rowling

From Warner Bros --

As anticipation builds for the November 18th release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ adventure “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” the Studio has announced plans to return to J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World for the next film in the series, slated for worldwide release on November 16, 2018. The announcement was made today by Greg Silverman, President, Creative Development and Worldwide Production, and Sue Kroll, President, Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures.

Wizarding world creator J.K. Rowling, who made her screenwriting debut on the first film, is scripting the sequel.

The second “Fantastic Beasts” movie moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world, where Newt and our other heroes have to decide on their allegiances.

Director David Yates (the final four “Harry Potter” films) will again take the helm, having recently completed work on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.” The new film will also reunite producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Neil Blair, Rick Senat and Danny Cohen will serve as executive producers.

The “Fantastic Beasts” franchise is an important part of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, a brand which continues to expand. The new play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts One and Two,” has just opened to rave reviews in London, drawing rapturous applause in sold out performances, and the script of the play, just published, has already seen unprecedented sales for a script book. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme parks at Universal Studios in Orlando, Hollywood and Osaka, Japan, continue to entertain record crowds and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter offers another extremely popular experience for fans of all ages. There is much more on the horizon, all highlighting that the global interest in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World in every medium is stronger than ever.

The “Fantastic Beasts” films will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
